  16. * The deadline for contest entries is April 1st, 1996. (no fooling!)

  18. * First, second, and third prize packages will be awarded to winners in

  21.    1. Best Logo Animation - anims with any sort of company logo or text.
  22.    2. Best Compositing - anims that mix digitized video with LightWave
  23.                          generated imagery.
  24.    3. Best Character Animation - anims that feature animated characters.
  25.    4. Best Short Story - anims that emphasize the telling of a story.
  26.    5. Best General Animation - anything not covered above.

  72. * There are no time limitations on the length of animations submitted.
  73.  
  74. * All animations must be created primarily with LightWave3D.
  75.  
  76. * Animations MUST be submitted on one of the following formats: S-VHS,
  77.   3/4"SP, BetaSP, or DVC.  Sorry, no VHS!
  78.  
  79. * As many as five entries may be submitted on one tape, but each entry
  80.   MUST be clearly marked with the following information:

  88. * Videotapes will not be returned, unless accompanied by self-addressed,
  89.   postage-paid packaging.

  91. * Software products that are available on different computer platforms 
  92.   will be awarded in the form of prize vouchers issued by LightSpeed.  
  93.   It will be the responsibility of contest winners to collect these 
  94.   prize packages from participating companies.  
  95.  
  96.   Any prizes that are not available on different platforms will be
  97.   awarded shortly after the contest winners have been announced.
  98.  
  99.   LightSpeed and the participating companies are not obligated to 
  100.   provide prizes that will be compatible with your computer system, 
  101.   although every attempt has been made to select prizes that will
  102.   work on many different computer platforms.
  103.  
  104. * All winning entries will be included in a compilation videotape that
  105.   will also include other contest entries.  
  106.  
  107.   By entering this contest, all entrants agree that they will provide 
  108.   a signed release which will allow Digital Concept Productions to 
  109.   reproduce their animations in the "1996 LightSpeed Animation Contest"
  110.   compilation videotape.
  111.  
  112.   All animators that have work appearing in the compilation videotape
  113.   will receive a free copy and will also have their name and contact 
  114.   information displayed in the closing credits.
  115.  
  116. * Contest finalists will be notified by phone, e-mail, or regular mail.
  117.   Upon notification, finalists will have 5 days to return a signed 
  118.   release or they will be disqualified from the contest altogether.
